Architectural Surveyor
Position Description
Small independent firm looking for someone to gather existing information and create as-built documentation including, but not limited to, reports, drawings, and photos. Surveyor must carry themselves in a professional manner and be patient while working as most sites are still in business. Some discretion on-site may be required.
This position has a requirement of 100% travel. Training will be near central Ohio. No required base of operations. This position is a contractor, 1099, position that will pay per site completed.
Essential Duties
Contact landlords and/or management to schedule a time to be onsite
Conduct site survey and collect as-built data
Produce project-specific as-built drawings
Proficiently identify and document typical commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems (MEP)
Read construction document
Provide quality deliverables (as-built drawings, MEP data, survey report, etc.)
Perform all tasks and provide deliverables within the time scheduled
Requirements
Attend a training and subsequent skill assessment in Ohio
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and observant
Familiarity with basic construction; architectural and MEP
Capable of climbing a ladder and maneuvering in tight places around obstacles
Minimum 21 years of age
Valid driver license
Must invest in your own field survey equipment
Willingness and eagerness to travel
Flexible schedule and ability to travel as soon as a week after accepting a job
Preferred
Second-year college student in architecture or similar field -OR- experience in construction or another relevant field

“Point and Shoot” camera capable of taking 1000+ photos @ 5mp per site
